About Me
Hello! My name is Angela Frye.
Teaching is my passion! I'm a literacy tutor specializing in helping students who struggle with reading, writing and spelling. I have been teaching since 1994 and have taught in both private and public schools and I homeschooled my children too. I have personal experience with dyslexia because I am the parent of a dyslexic. I received specialized training in the Orton-Gillingham approach through OGA (Orton Gillingham Academy) at the Associate and Certified Levels as well as additional training through IMSLEC (International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council).
My goals are to equip and help build confidence in children who are struggling with language skills so that they become proficient readers, writers, and spellers and encourage and help equip parents and educators too.
Why OG?
Since 2016, I have tutored students using the Orgton-Gillingham (OG) approach. I firmly believe that learning should be an enjoyable experience for the student! I am continually finding and creating games and activities to engage students and help them enjoy the process of learning through the multisensory approach used in OG tutoring. Orton-Gillingham tutoring has been one of the most rewarding and fulfilling things that I have ever done! I love the flexibility of this approach and seeing the gains my students make in using their developing literacy skills.
